Sunshine House was established in in May 2019. With no intention of becoming a permanent DIY venue in Davis, the demand for shows grew and so did the passion to put them on among Sunshine House's founding organizers. 

 

Springing into the Davis DIY music scene, our first ever show was KDVS Goth Prom (5/17) with performances by Bloodsound, Cherry Blossom, DJ Ortho Jax, and DJ Pan Frances. The event was organized by Abbey Dunham (lived at the house), Desmond Chu (KDVS Events Director), and Katherine Mushik (KDVS Events Intern). The next show held at Sunshine House, and the last of the shows at the original venue, was an intimate concert by Haley Blais (5/27) and were organized by Abbey Dunham and Katherine Mushik. Both events were wildly successful, and we are sad to leave the house the took place in.

 

Sunshine House has since helped organize several events in Davis including Yves St Clair and Jo Donovan Turner's House Show Fundraiser for Sudan (6/25) and Pride Party (6/28) organized by Abbey and held at Jo's house. Sunshine House is taking a hiatus and coming back 9/6/2019. Stay tuned you beautiful rays of sunshine!
